“Entrepreneurship and servant leadership; inspiring the next generation of female leaders in Cameroon”, is the theme of this year’s 2018 girl’s leadership boot camp, organized by Hope for the Needy Association Cameroon (HOFNA). Launched on the 28th of August 2018, over 50 girls aged 12 to 19 in Bamenda, will for one week, be drilled on the basis of starting and running a business effectively, proper use of the Internet, building Self-Esteem, Life Skills and Goal Setting, pitching of a Project Idea, setting and achieving goals, using arts to express their dreams and much more.
At the end of the program, the best two projects will be selected and sponsored by Hofna. The boot camp that ends on the1st of September 2018 has as slogan “Girls with great ideas change the world”.
According to the Director for HOFNA Cameroon, Christelle Bay C, HOFNA’s, , this is a unique program for teenage girls as recognizing the leadership skills developed early in life are critical to becoming an empowered woman as she matures. Through this program, Girls will develop the positive skills and for leadership in their own lives. Girls Leadership Boot camp is a prime example of how to fill the pipeline with young female leaders ready to learn, gain experience, understand their bodies and grow into more senior leadership roles as their careers progress.
After their participation in the Leadership Boot Camp program, girls are assigned mentors who continue to accompany them in their leadership journeys.
